Hello All: Again, I find myself way behind with my blogging responsibilities. These detailed individual blog posts about the weddings that I DJ seem to take way to much time. Therefore, I think I will simplify my personal online social presence and maybe jump on the 500 Million strong band wagon and join Facebook. I can't believe I've avoided it this long....but I think the time has come. Or has it? If I make the jump, my little bloggosphere here will just fizzle out. I hope you can all handle it. I just can't keep up

Hello All: As the title of this blog post states: "I just can't keep up". This has been one very busy and exciting summer for all of us here at Jerry Bruno Productions. (www.jerrybruno.com). It's so busy that for the first time in a long time I'm finding myself taking work home with me. Trust me, I'm not complaining, but my blog here is going to start to suffer. What a bummer... I know.

So with that being said, I've already missed blogging about my last two weddings, but I swear to you I was rockin' it hard at some great receptions.

On August 6Th, 2010 I was at Pine Ridge C.C. with a super cool family.

I had the pleasure of working with the always crazy and fun Jeff Ballard from Ballard Brothers Photography. Good times!

And on August 7Th, 2010 I did a super swanky reception at Landerhaven (East Ballroom) for an equally awesome couple.

I wish all four of you the very best. Congrats to Alicia & Dan as well as John & Gina.

Gilpin - Fritz Wedding @ Walden

Hello All: Wow, Wow, Wow, what a weekend. This past Saturday night was amazing, wonderful and frightening all at the same time. I was looking forward to this wedding for so many reasons, but as the forecast became a reality it had me extremely nervous. Rachael & Jonathan planned a beautiful reception at Walden Country Inn outside in a huge tent. It was stunning...and hot. Thank goodness for the parents of the bride & groom adding air-conditioning to the set-up to keep the guests cool. There was a heat-advisory in affect that evening until 8:00 PM. It was steamy! But that was the least of our worries. The weather turned for the worse just as we were doing the grand entrance and the party had to be put on hold while the staff & many guests hunkered down in the tent (holding down the sides) to keep us from flying away. Looking back, I'm fairly certain if the guests, vendors and staffers (about 40 of them) did not step up and help out the whole event would have been rained out and blown down. It was a very scary 20 minutes. It was one of the most amazing things I've been apart of as a DJ in the last 11 years. I'm thankful we all survived.

Memorable Moments: Wow, there were a ton. In a nutshell, I will always remember all the trained dancers on the dance floor, the extreme rain and winds (felt like a Tornado) as well as the heat and their first dance routine. - It was all amazing. Plus the way the bride & groom (and their families) dealt with the torrential rain was admirable. They were cool, happy and confident that it was all going to be okay! It was more than okay, it was perfect...complete with a Rainbow.

Hello All: This past weekend was amazing. I had a super fun Saturday Off and I spent my Friday Night DJ'ing for a kick-butt couple at a brand new (soon to be very popular) wedding venue (Gervasi Vineyard). Shawn & Andrea were the second wedding to be held at this hip, stylish new vineyard. The event went off without a hitch. Gervasi lived up to their hype. I can't wait to go back. Scrivens - Hoyer Wedding @ Glidden House

Hello All: This past weekend had a ton of highlights, many personal (birthday, wedding anniversary, Fourth of July...etc) but I was really looking forward to my Friday Night wedding reception with Brian and Lauren. Lauren & Brian met while they were in high school and Brian was playing football for St. Ignatius. Fast forward about 10 years and they are living in Foxboro and Brian plays quarterback for The New England Patriots. To say that I was not excited and impressed is an understatement. I had a lot of fun working with this couple throughout the entire process. They are two very down-to-earth and fun people and their families welcomed CJ and I into their lives (for those 6 hours) with open arms. A good time was had by all. Thanks for having us be a part of your special day.

Hello All: This past weekend I experienced a few "firsts". I finally had the opportunity to personally work with Alisha Rice at The Country Club in Pepper Pike. WOW, what an amazing venue, setting and staff. It was an amazing experience. I can't wait to return.

The bride & groom who I had the pleasure of DJ'ing for were both from Canada and they contracted me for their reception 23 months ago. WOW again, that's impressive. I can't believe that 2 years had passed since we first met. Brandon and Sara Lyn were a match made in heaven. I could feel the love. They are meant for each other. It was an honor to be a part of their wedding. Thank you!

Hello All: Okay, I have come to terms with the truth. I am in no way a good blogger, but at least I try. The past two and a half weeks have been pretty busy for me and my family. Not only have I DJ'ed at four weddings in three weeks but I have also squeezed in a trip to Disney with my family. If you do the math, that is one weekend off and two weekends with back-to-back weddings. With all the crazy activity I failed to take enough good photo's at each of the weddings I DJ'ed but I also failed at keeping up with their individual wedding blog posts. So here is a mish-mash quick catch up of four weddings and a funeral, err, I mean a trip to Disney (which was super fun with my family and well needed.)

Hello All: This past Saturday Night I was at my favorite Cleveland venue: The Metro Club (A Sammy's Venue) which is located on the 21st Floor of the Huntington Building. This room has a great vibe and a great view. I'm a huge fan of the black carpet ad over sized black chairs. Very classy. This wedding was spectacular. The bride was the sister of a past client of mine and the groom Kevin comes from a HUGE family. All and All the event was perfect.

Memorable Moment(s): Okay, I can't seem to limit this to a single moment for any event. So here are my top two favorite moments at Jackie & Kevin's wedding. 1. The bride & groom's first dance performed live by the groom's niece. (see pic below). Taylor has a beautiful voice and really nailed the song. Fantastic! #2. The bride had arranged a surprise for most all of her guests (and Kevin). She hired The Ohio State University Alumni Marching Band (Cleveland Chapter) to surprise the groom and all of her guests near the end of dinner. This really helped get the party started and was truly enjoyed by all of the crazy Buckeye fans in attendance. Please check out the quick video clip below.

Hello All: This past weekend was a nice "double-header".

Friday Night started off with a benefit event for "Motz Run" at Pazzo's Grand Ballroom (the latest Sammy's venue). The Motz Run was to help fight cancer. The Chinese auction and 50/50 raffle raised big money (I think & hope). It's good to give back once in a while. It was great to be a part of such a worthy cause. I'm glad I am able to donate my time & services when I can. I'm sorry there are no pics of this event, but there was way more spending money and way less dancing at this event. Which was a good thing!

Saturday Night took me to a familiar venue, Windows. I had a great time DJ'ing for Randi and Adam. They make a picture perfect couple. If you don't believe me, just be sure to check the Linczak Photography blog for updates. The wedding was amazing. I had the honor of providing music for all of the elements. From the ceremony music to the last dance of the night, my Bose L1 DJ rig was a superstar and their guests rocked the dance floor.

Memorable Moment(s): I think I really need to start narrowing this category down to a single moment for each event. So here is the first go at this newly instated rule: The most memorable moment of the whole wedding was actually at the end of the night. I always play a follow up - last dance song at half-volume while I'm starting my break down process, just to give the guests some "exiting" music. This night was no different, but the response was. Per a request, I played "Like A Prayer" by Madonna. It was awesome! All the bridesmaids, close friends and beautiful bride got out on the dance floor and sang there buts off. It was a great way to end the night!

Hello All: This past weekend I was back at it again. This time the reception was on the smaller side, hahaha, 355 guests and a bridal party (with sponsors included) that totaled 42. Monica and Edlin were two of the nicest people I have DJ'ed for. They were laid back, fun and definitely in love. The whole process was a pleasure.

Memorable Moments: As usual, there were a few: First off, the huge bridal party was definitely a test. The introductions included Parents, Sponsors, Juniors, Bridal Party and the Bride & Groom. Second on the list: The line dancing at this reception was insane (see pic below). They sure loved their line dances. Lastly, the father's of the bride & groom also surprised the happy couple with a duet on guitar and vocals. They sang to the bride & groom about life, love, family support and happiness. It was very touching.

Hello All: Okay, now it officially feels like the 2010 wedding season is in full effect. What a way to start 2010....with a bang. I had the pleasure of DJ'ing for a wonderful couple with an amazingly awesome family. The reception stage was set: Marriott Key Center and the guests were ready to party. I couldn't clear the dance floor if I tried. Everything went perfectly, well except for the fact that my iPhone died during their first dance and I could not take any more pics or video for this blog update.

Memorable Moment(s): First off, the dance floor at this reception never failed. I could have played the "C" side to any album and it would have kept the guests moving. Their guests were there to party and celebrate. It made my job easy...and fun. The father of the bride gave a very touching speech and there was also some amazing Irish Dancing thrown down that I wasn't able to capture and share (since my iPhone choked).

Their grand entrance was pretty sweet as well: They used two songs: "A Cab Ride To Kingston" by Gaelic Storm and then for the Bride & Groom only: "I'm Shipping Up To Boston" by The Dropkick Murphy's. (but only the first 46 seconds)

Tuchman - Wilson Wedding @ The Club

Hello All: This past weekend was my unofficial pseudo start to the uber-busy 2010 wedding season. I had so many reasons to look forward to this celebration. I got to DJ at one of my favorite Cleveland venue's, I got to work with one of the area's best (and coolest) photog's and the bride & groom were super fun and easy to work with.

Memorable Moments: First the guest list, it was a DJ's dream. It seemed like 75% of the guests were between 25-35 years old. That age group makes it easy to keep the dance floor full. Secondly, there was an awesome triple toast in the middle of the night done by three of the groom's close college friends. They were short, sweet and funny. The guests truly enjoyed their touching sentiments. Next was the crowds reaction to "I Gotta Feeling" By the BYP. Check out the video below. Finally, the best dancer in attendance was a 3 or 4 year old little girl (friend of the flower girl) who tore up the dance floor all night long...and with an attitude.

Dawn & Jason @ Windows on The River

Hello All: This past weekend I found myself at Windows on The River, again. I love that place. It has such a killer vibe, it has a great look and the staff is some of the best in the city. They take great care of their clients and guests, but still know how to be fun and inviting. Ryan (the banquet manager) does a great job.

Dawn & Jason invited 250 of their closest friends & family to their overly fun and unique wedding reception. We played a little wiffleball garter toss, did the "Stanky Leg" and sang a song Karaoke style. It was all well received by their family and friends.

Memorable Moments: Like most weddings, there are a few things about this particular reception that I will remember for a long time. First off, Dawn & Jason did a very non-traditional garter toss. Both the bride & groom played baseball growing up, so instead of the garter removal and toss they tied the garter around a wiffleball and Dawn pitched it to Jason as he used the little purple wiffleball bat and knocked it into the single guy outfield. Later in the night we danced to the new craze "Stanky Legg". Okay, maybe not the latest craze, but it was pretty fun. Last but not least some of the bride & groom's closest friends had fun with a sing-a-long to "Two Ticket's to Paradise" by Eddie Money. (see pic below). It was a great night.

Hello All: This past weekend was a whirl-wind. It started off with an amazing reception at The Renaissance with a kick-butt couple: JP and Rebecca, followed by my father's surprise 60Th Birthday Party complete with a RAD PHOTOBOOTH (Thanks Rob) and ended with a Monster Jam Valentines event with my wife and sons. Hello All: This past weekend was fantastic. I have been looking forward to Melissa & Carmen's wedding for a few months now. (They only booked me back in November or so). Hello All: This past weekend was uber-busy. Not only did Jerry Bruno Productions participate in the state's largest Bridal Show (IX-Today's Bride) on Sunday January 17Th, 2010, but I also had a wedding to DJ in Canton (and boy was it FOGGY). This was my first time DJ'ing at Brookside C.C. What a great venue. The food was amazing, the layout was wedding friendly and the staff was very courteous. The reception was A-1. Jason and Liz lined up some of the area's finest vendors. Jason and Liz were a lot of fun and their guests had no problem dancing. Take a look at their "formalities" music list below. Hello All: Well my first official January 2010 wedding has come and gone and the bride & groom were absolutely amazing. They were two of the nicest people I have ever met. Erika and Andrew kept things small, yet eventful. They brought together 95 family and friends all organized by a last minute "E-Vite" and before they knew it, this very formal, very small reception was on. They did an exceptional job with all the details. Fillet or Salmon was the choice of night and the bride even had her go-to snack ready. (see below). Side note to future brides/grooms: It can be along day getting ready for, and having your wedding and reception, it's always good to keep a box of snacks around to keep you and the bridal party going. The whole event was held at Walden in Aurora Ohio. The ceremony was held at the "Inn" and immediately following the reception was held at the "Club". This little group of family and friends really partied.

Memorable Moment(s): As always, there were a bunch of things. Two of my favorite things: The Mother/Son Dance ("That's What Friends are For") was super emotional. Andrew and his mother Cindy really shared the moment. The song was very important to the both of them and it really reminded Andrew of his childhood. You could see it in both of their eyes. Then, later in the night, Andrew really stepped things up a notch and surprised EVERYONE with his "Sexyback" Garter Removal/Toss. He had the whole thing choreographed complete with homemade extra large Magnet (don't ask ) and a Fedora. It was super sweet. Way to rock in Andrew!

Hello All: I hope everyone is having a great New Years. Happy 2010! I spent the last night of 2009 DJ'ing at a very unique wedding reception. Katie and Gill are a great couple. They were married 3 months ago in Israel in a very religious ceremony. This reception was for Katie's family and friends who could not be in attendance during their Israel ceremony. This was a mini-ceremony & celebration to help celebrate their marriage. Katie & Gill kept everything very simple for religious reasons. They only did a few of the standard wedding reception formalities: Cake Cutting, A few toasts and a Father/Daughter Dance. There wasn't even a First Dance. With a little creativity and a core group of super fun dancers we kept the dancing going until just after we rung in the New Year. I always feel revived and uplifted at a wedding reception on New Years Eve. It's electrifying! (regardless of the guest count)

Memorable Moment(s): Why is it that I can never come up with just one moment, this wedding was jammed full of fun. Here's are just a few things that I will always remember: 1. During the first dance Katie was very much into the moment, she was singing along, dancing and being playful with Andrew. It was very fun to watch. 2. The overly aggressive cake smashing that occurred just after the cake cutting. 3. The surprise visit from Santa Claus for the youngsters in attendance at the wedding. 4. The brides' twin-cousins (Ashley & Meghan age 7) sang "Love Story" by Taylor Swift to the bride and groom ( the whole song ). I have never seen anything so cute at a wedding in my entire professional career. It was awesome and the girls received a huge round of applause. 5. The anniversary dance was also super special. The final three couples were all Grandparents of the bride & groom. Celebrating 49, 50 and 65 years respectfully. Simply jaw-dropping, a true inspiration.

Hello All: Well - It's my 101st post (Seems sorta monumental)....plus it's a new blog post on a kick ass wedding. This past weekend I had the pleasure of DJ'ing for a very hip couple. Nathaniel and Valarie are trendy, thoughtful, educated well-rounded people with an eye for elegance and an ear for good music. (Must be why they chose me! :) ) I was really looking forward to this wedding for two big reasons. First they decided to have their reception at a new venue for me. (Josephats Arts Hall) and their cocktail and dinner music line up was very cool. Lots of ambient music by artists like Air, Tosco, Quite Village, Herbert and Cockteau Twins. I think their musical taste's fit the space and guest list perfectly. The music created the perfect vibe for the event.

Hello All: This past weekend I found myself back at a familiar venue: The Cuyahoga County Courthouse. My office provides entertainment at this venue many, many times per year but I myself have personally been there three times in the last month and a half alone. I'm beginning to really dig it. On Saturday November 14Th Lauren and Scott were blessed with not only a fantastic reception but a beautiful day as well. They could not have picked a better November day for a wedding. I was looking forward to this wedding for many reasons, I truly enjoyed working with Lauren & Scott during the planning process and I need to re-pay RAD by pulling a prank. (which the bride reminded me about). You see, every time Rob (RAD) and I work together he finds some sneaky way to pull a prank...and I never see it coming. This night, I was determined to repay the favor.

The toast: Done by the brother of the bride (very touching ).

The cake cutting: I have never before seen a bride smash it in her new husbands face so hard and yet the cake filled groom completely restrained, he was very gentle. Way to go Scott.

The Scott Edwards: There were a total of 3 people at the wedding with the same first and middle names: "Scott Edward" (Me, the Groom and a good friend) - how crazy is that?

The Prank: I waited patiently, like LeBron on the court, I waited for the game to come to me, then the opportunity made itself known. Rob and Jackie were seated at a table with the guests and when I noticed Rob had gotten up to take some dinner shots I took the opportunity to sit down with Jackie to make small talk, but really I was stealing Rob's watch that he conveniently left at his seat. I immediately took it to the groom, one of the other Scott Edwards', and he proceeded to put it on for me. It was not until the garter removal that we finally gave a hint (2 plus hours later). Scott and I kept asking Rob if he knew what time it was. Rob was a bit clueless until I pointed at my watch and then he realized he had been had. I think Rob would have left the reception without even knowing had we not given him a few hints. Finally the score is a little more respectable.

On a more touching note: Chris & Karrie opted for the Anniversary Dance. Karrie's grandparents were in attendance and participated. On February 3rd, 2010 her grandparents will celebrate 70 YEARS! - Amazing! What an inspiration. They were the longest married couple in attendance by nearly 24 years. They were given a standing ovation.

Hello All: This past weekend I found myself back at Windows on the River. My new second home. I love this place. The staff, the venue, the views, the food. It's a great venue for a wedding reception. Nick & Chrissy had a stunning reception planned for 180 guests. They held the affair in Cityview Room and brought in some stellar vendors to boot. Their guests came ready to party and definitely had their dancing shoes on.

Memorable Moment: After we completed the garter removal and toss, Chrissy and Nick agreed: We had to do the "reversal". So we all had some good fun as we witnessed two complete strangers get intimate with the garter as the lucky single guy had the honor of placing the garter on the leg of a single lady. It's a fact: For every inch about the knee the garter gets placed it is supposed to be 7 years good luck in the newlyweds marriage. So push it up high! The lucky candidates were very fun and did it with class.

Hello All: Day number 2 of this past weekends festivities was very unique...and memorable for sure. Morgan and Adam are a great couple. They are very much in love. Anyone in attendance could see that. Aside from the many kisses prompted by the clanking of the glasses, they could not keep their lips off of each other. It was very refreshing to see two people so much in love. Their entire bridal party and parents were unbelievably fun, welcoming and energetic. Morgan & Adam really wanted their wedding reception to be at Windows and they also wanted it on Sweetest Day weekend, so when the Cityview Room was only available on Sunday Night....they scooped it up. The reception was quaint, 85 guests, but we partied like it was set for a couple hundred.

Memorable Moment: One of Adam's groomsmen is also an Akron cop. So, as a surprise to family and friends ( to spice things up ) - just as Adam was about to do the garter removal, the Akron cop crashed our party, hand-cuffed Adam and forced him to remove and toss the garter by using his mouth only. Note: This was not my idea, but it certainly went over well. Everyone cheered as Adam struggled under the big white gown while digging for the elusive garter. He even tossed it to the hand full of single guys by getting a running start and whipping his head and tossing the garter from his mouth. (See iPhone pic below for crappy picture of how it all went down)

Hello All: Finally, my last double weekend of the year. It has come and gone. I feel relieved and sad at the same time. I'm ready for winter. Bring it on. This past Saturday Night (October 17Th) was kickin'. Have you ever had that feeling that you just know somebody, even if you don't. Well that's how Sean and Nora made everyone feel. I will not confirm which of them was the Pittsburgh fan (for their safety) but it's true!

Hello All: Day two of last weekend was flippin' fantastic. Nicole and Michael were two of the most fun people I have ever DJ'ed for. Nicole is artistic, full of life and super easy to talk to. Her and Michael make a perfect match. The newlyweds had a very formal, very quaint reception (less the 100 guests). Everything was done to the "9's". The table settings, linen's, vendors, food, candy table, cake..etc. It was all stellar. The event was smaller but the guests partied big time. I could not keep them off the dance floor. It was so good...they even danced to "Soulja Boy's: Crank That". - Good times.

Hello All: This past Friday Night ( October 9Th ) I had the pleasure of DJ'ing for a very fun, down-to-earth couple. Joe & Laura were an absolute pleasure to work with. Hello All: This past Saturday was spent like most of my Saturday nights: At a kickin' wedding reception. I never had a chance to meet the bride & groom until the Thursday before their wedding, but @ that moment I knew we were going to have a good time. Maria & Simon chose one of my favorite (yet rarely used) songs for their grand entrance: "You're the Best" - Joe Esposito ( think Karate Kid ). The entire night went off without a hitch. Maria & Simon were the first of their friends to get married and were definitely up to the challenge of setting the tone of their reception. I'm pretty sure everyone enjoyed themselves and I'm hoping that over the next several years their close friends from college will keep me in mind! :)

The Photog: Not sure, he was a nice guy, but came from Grand Rapids Michigan. He left without saying goodbye and I forgot to grab his business card. Oh well.

Memorable Moment: Well, again their were two of them: 1. The Maid of Honor who flew in from Brazil spoke just briefly for her toast. She was very nervous and the only thing I could understand was "I Love You"...she was speaking in Portuguese. 2. The groomsmen insisted I play "I'm On A Boat" - Lonely Island, which I happily busted into.

Hilton Anniversary Event.

Hello All: This past Friday Night (October 2nd) was definitely a night to remember. I was selected to DJ one of the biggest & most elite celebrations in all of Akron. The Hilton Akron West/Fairlawn (owned by Mr. "A") had a reason to celebrate. The Hotel marked a momentous occasion with a momentous event. Mr. "A's" property just turned 40 years old.

At first thought, you might ask, "why is this such a big event?" Well, 40 years marks the longest running single hotel property owned by one individual in the WORLD. (Yes, I said World). Hilton Hotel's and Mr. A went all out. They put together one heck of a celebration which served two purposes: 1. Celebrate 40 years, & 2. Raise Money for the Stephen A. Comunale Jr., Foundation. It was a huge success.

Each of the main spaces within the hotel was given it's own theme which was crafted to perfection by their own talented Florist and Designers. I was set pool side in the "South Beach Room" designed by Stephen M. Tokar. It was AMAZING. check out the views below. (iPhone Quality Pics) - They really do no justice at all. I'm sorry, but I missed taking pics of the other spaces. (darn battery life on my iPhone)

The other talent enlisted for this huge undertaking was: Neil Leeson, Heather Lilly and Prestige Floral, just to name a few. This was all held together and choreographed by the great Eileen Benson (planner)

Hello All: Wow, do I feel a disconnect from my blog...and it's only been a couple of weeks. Well, I'm back at it with this post which is starting the next month and a half of double weekends. Let the good times roll.

This past Friday (September 25Th) I headed south for a amazing reception. Travis and Andrea assembled some of the area's finest vendors for 135 of their bestest friends & family. Andrea and Travis were a great couple to work with. They are so down to earth, friendly, genuine and a ton of fun. (Who wouldn't love a bride who likes to go hunting with her man.) We rocked the party until 1:30am. Great times! Thanks for having me!

Hello All: I really really love Sunday afternoon weddings. Plus I really love any wedding that includes a bride as fun as Stacey. She was always so easy to talk to on the phone, cheerful and full of life. She put a smile on my face every time we spoke about her wedding music & reception. Her and Jason make a stellar couple. It was super sweet!

Hello All: This past Saturday (September 12th, 2009) I had my first experience DJ'ing at The Sheraton Crown Plaza Hotel in Middleburg Hts. It was fantastic. I also had the pleasure of working with a new photographer, Joe Kolecki. (super nice guy) All and all it was a great night. It was an intimate affair with 100 guests and a super fun bridal party.

Memorable Moment: The groom (Jeff) at one point in the evening brought up a CD for me to play and asked me to play "Track 5" - (Note, when a bride or groom brings up a CD and asks me to play it...I play it...without question) Well, 30 seconds into the song it became VERY vulgar and my first thought was turn it off....turn it off, but hey, it was the groom who gave me the CD, so I let it go....at least until he promptly and embarrassingly (hey is that a word) came over and asked me to skip to track 8....which also ended up being full of nasty language as well...we gave up on the CD after that.

Hello All: Night number two of my Labor Day weekend DJ extravaganza was for a fellow North Olmsted High School Graduate. Good times! Brian & Megan put on one heck of a show, literally! They had an entire night prepared with elements that kept me and here guests busy all night long. I'm 100% positive that their guests enjoyed every minute of it. The evening was topped off with a last dance song of "Kokomo" - Beach Boys. (They are heading to Aruba for their Honeymoon).

Hello All: Happy belated Labor Day. This past weekend was the first "double" of what is going to be a very busy September. - Wow, is September the new June or what? I have 3 doubles this month (Sat. Sun., Sat. Sun., OFF, then Fri. Sat. weekends) - More wedding blog posts to come. Stay tuned.

On Saturday September 5th, 2009 I was again at The Bertram Inn for a super cool couple. Quinn and Chad are very much in love. Everyone could see it, everyone could feel it. They put on a one heck of a reception with some of my FAV vendors. The theme was "movies", complete with popcorn and movie poster centerpieces. Oh yeah, I definitely did partake in the late night snack of wings and quesadillas too. Yumm.

Hello All: I had to share this. A couple of weeks back another wedding YouTube sensation swept the nation: "JK's Wedding Entrance Dance", which quickly received millions of hits. (21,803,071 views as of this blog post to be exact) I myself am guilty of watching it a 1/2 dozen times alone. It is a great video captured at the wedding ceremony for "JK". Not to long ago "JK" put out the "JK Divorce Entrance Dance". - A follow up sequel to the original and all in good fun, not for real. - Check it by clicking here. This is an amazing video as well and very fun to watch, again I have watched it 1/2 dozen times already.

Hello All: Well, this weekend was big, no wait, it was huge! I had the honor of DJ'ing for a fellow, respected wedding industry professional: Valarie Kirkbride from "Kirkbrides Wedding Planning & Design". If you've never heard of her and her company, check them out by clicking here. They always do a stellar job, but this past Saturday (August 15Th) was way beyond all expectations, I think even Valarie was surprised and delighted with the way the whole evening turned out.

The theme was "Carnival Nights" and she took it to the 10Th degree. Everything about her wedding reception made me think I was on a set in a movie or at some high profile celebrity wedding. She did not miss one single element. It was Valarie and her associates at their best and a good time was had by all. My assistant Casey was very fond of the cookies and Carmel Apples. The popcorn for a late night snack was a great idea too.

The event was jam packed with a ton of details and events that I had to choreograph and control. I was the evenings designated DJ and MC even though they also hired a band to play as well. The band and I worked well together and we created a seamless presentation of music, dancing and entertainment.

With all the chaos of the multi-room set up, working with a band and the extreme heat I was slightly off my photographic iPhone game last night. I only remembered to get two shots. The first pic below is of Valarie and Jimmy's first dance: "Let's Stay Together" - Al Green. (Great song choice). The second pic below was an after thought and I grabbed the closest drunk guest at the end of the wedding and asked him to take a quick pic before he dropped my iPhone on the dance floor. Hello All: The past 5 days have been amazingly relaxin'. I have done nothing but sit on the beach with my boys, hang with old friends, play solitare, rummy, read a book and barefoot (water ski). I was not in the mood to take pics or even turn on the puter until I got home an hour ago and realized it's back to reality on Monday morning. Now that I sit here and type this (wife is napping again *vacation = sleep time for wifey*) I am realizing how much I hate getting back to normal. What a downer.

Oh well. I wonder how much of a downer it will be when we finally make it to Hawaii for two weeks and then have to come back to reality, maybe that's why most couples who go to Hawaii do it during retirement...so they don't have to have that feeling. I guess we'll wait until then as well. The laundry just buzzed...time to fold. Enjoy your lazy Sunday afternoon.

Oh "Bella" - Where art thou "Bella"?

Hello All: Okay, I don't know how many potential brides actually find my own little piece of the world wide web here...but hey, if you do, please take heed to my advice:

Recently (July 11Th) I worked with a photography studio called "Bella" and it was not the best experience of my life. I debated whether or not I would mention to anyone at all, but after a few days of thinking about it, I had to put it down somewhere...so my blog it is.

Photographers are an integral part of every reception. They need to photograph and document the celebration and events. Well, this past weekend the photographer missed the Bouquet Toss....not because he & she (names withheld because I don't know their actual names) weren't there, but because they were packing up to leave. - You see, the bride & groom booked the photographers until 9:00PM. (yes, early by most standards)

Now, before I finish my little complaint, I have to tell you that during our quick vendor meal and discussion I promised the photographers I would be done with all the formalities before 9:00PM or just a few minutes after. (which is very early) They were okay with it...or so I thought.

At 8:58 pm, Videographer ready (Mystic Image/scheduled until 10:00PM) I walked over to the photographer and said, "Bouquet Toss in 30 seconds, end of this song", and I expected to hear: "perfect, great timing", instead I got a short cold, "brush-me-off" kind of response: "To late, I'm outta here"....and they packed up their bags and left the venue and reception.

I'm a little peeved....I'm a little peeved for my bride & groom. Yes, I know, Mystic Image was able to get the whole thing on video...but couldn't the photographers have stayed just 2/3 minutes more to get "FULL-COVERAGE" of this event?

Bella Photography, from what I understand now, is a national company that may be cheaper then some of the PROFESSIONAL local companies, but they are just photographers (not always pros) tossed together to "fill-the-date". The individual shooters have no vested interest in the results, photos themselves or the bride & groom.

Moral of my story: Beware of "Bella".....Where art thou Bella?...oh wait, it's 9pm. Their gone!

Hello All: This past weekend (Saturday July 11th) was a kickin' one. Not only was it a beautiful Saturday afternoon I got to work with one of my favorite vendors in the Cleveland wedding market: Mystic Image Video - Click Here.

Vince and Elizabeth had the night of their lives. It was a stellar evening complete with my new favorite song: "I'm On A Boat" - Lonely Island. (of course the clean version) - Here is the "dirty version" - Click Here. - Vince and Elizabeth are huge fans of this spoof/comedy song and so were their closest friends. I could have played "I'm On A Boat" 10 days on Saturday and no one would have complained. (but I only played it 2x).

Their reception was held at the very hip Hilton Garden Inn of Twinsburg. - Click Here. Kathy Pansmith her and staff always provide amazing service. If your planning a wedding, please go check them out. The food is in my top 5 of Cleveland.

Weekend Weddings: June 26th & June 27th

Hello All: Well this past weekend was a huge success. Two weddings, Two amazing parties, both fantastic events. Here's the quick breakdown:

Friday June 26Th: Anna & Anthony @ The Hillbrook Club.

This was definitely one reception I will remember for a long time. Anna and Anthony had around 150 friends and family join them for their wedding ceremony just outside the "Tea House" @ The Hillbrook Club with a crazy vodka filled reception to follow. Anna was born in Russia and only a few close family members made the trip over the pond for the event....with amazingly potent Russian Vodka to share. - Each table had a few bottles of vodka along with a shot glass for each guest and everyone was sure to "toast" during the meal for each of the 3 speakers. - By the time dancing started, it only took 1 song to fill the dance floor and it never let down from there. - It was an exciting night filled with dancing and liquor.

Saturday June 27Th: Alison & Christopher @ The Club at Key Center

Alison & Christopher said their "I-Do's" at the Old Stone Church and then caught up with their guests at one of my favorite venue's in Cleveland: The Club @ Key Center. This facility is top notch and the staff is led by an amazing catering manager: Maureen O'Hanlon. This was an intimate reception of 88 guests (including me) and they danced the night away as if there were 200 guests. The dance floor was packed all night long. (with 88 guests and a full dance floor the tables looked sparse) The night could not have gone any better. Here are a couple of iPhone 3Gs video clips of the evening and set up.

Hello All: This past weekend was superb. I DJ'ed a very large, classy & fun reception at LaCentre on Saturday June 20th and I also participated in the North Olmsted Relay for Life. (also on the same day)

The wedding reception at LaCentre was for Maria Wong and Daniel Chan. These two were a pure pleasure to work with. They are two of the nicest people I have ever met and were a lot of fun during the planning process. Dan & Maria invited 450 of their closest family, friends and coworkers to LaCentre for a beautiful reception....and boy was in set up.

Delayed Weekend Recovery

Hello All: Okay, so it is now a week after the much anticipated weekend of June 6Th and I am still not fully recovered, or maybe that was the wedding I DJ'ed last night @ The Hyatt? Last weekend was by far one of the best and most entertaining weekends I have had in a very long time. The combination of Mason's first Tee Ball Game, my good buddy's rehearsal dinner, Wedding ceremony & reception and then the most perfect day at the cottage with my bestest friends in the whole world really made for one hell of a tiring weekend. Hello All: This upcoming weekend is going to be killer. Starting with my best friends (Dan & Rina Luzius) flying in from Seattle on Friday morning @ 6:15am. - Then it's a rehearsal dinner for one of our best friends Adam Pidcock who is marrying to the most perfect girl for Adam! Sara is definitely his match made in heaven. The wedding is on Saturday and I am helping them with their music as a thank you for Adam helping me six years ago at my wedding with the food. (Adam grew up a catering man) Then on Sunday, Denise, Mason, Maddox, Rina & Dan Luzius and I are heading southbound for some summer fun at our cottage on Chippewa Lake. Plus it's mom Mom's birthday! Yay - Cake and Ice Cream! - I love weekends like this...I can't wait. Pics to come for sure, if I remember! Enjoy your weekend everyone!

Hello All: This past Saturday evening I DJ'ed my first wedding reception at Anthe's in Portage Lakes, Ohio. What a great venue! - The staff was ultra friendly, the decor was hip and modern and the food was delicious ( especially the parmesan chicken ) Krista Karem and Brian Rick tied the knot earlier that day (Saturday May 30Th) and it was an absolutely beautiful day. It was a perfect "tuxedo" day, not to hot, not to cold...just perfect. The photography and videography was done by Z Media. A very busy, long holiday weekend!

Hello All: This memorial weekend has been a busy one. It started on Friday when we had a few visitors in from Arizona (Chris, Dana & Caiden) and a mini Cavs game party (what a game - what a shot!). Saturday morning was a paint ball battle at Synergy Field for one of my closest friends (Adam) bachelor party. Then I raced out to Mooreland Mansion for a fantastic little wedding reception for Janessa Mitchel and Tim Therion. The reception was small, intimate and classy. It was a superb event from start to finish with BCR Photography capturing the images of the night. After the reception I made my way out to the "after bachelor party" for Adam at Prices Pub in Westpark. Sunday was a new day and yet another 5th Birthday party for Mason, this one was at our house. Then the Cavs lost, damn - what a bummer. Memorial Monday was a the "standard" trip to Chippewa but we mixed it up a bit with a Relay For Life slushy sale (we made $82.00) and of course another 5th Birthday Party for Mason Jones. Now it's a 11:00 PM on Sunday Night and I just fell asleep in my chair typing this little blog post up. So here's a few wedding pics from Saturday Night @ Mooreland Masion. Hello All: This past Saturday evening ( May 16th) I had the pleasure of DJ'ing for Dr. Colleen Hickle and Mr. Mike Gackowski. It was held at the Hilton Garden Inn located @ East 9th Street in Downtown Cleveland. - It was a great night. The ballroom at the downtown Hilton is stellar venue with superior service, food and accomodations. The reception lasted until past midnight and they were still begging for more as the last song came to an end ( Don't Stop Believing - Journey ). Hello All: This past Saturday night (April 25Th) I Dj'ed an amazing reception for an amazing couple. Mary King and Andrew Rothacker are not only a great people, they had a great group of family and friends that came together to celebrate their marriage. The reception was at Tom's Country Place in Avon. (try the breaded pork chops - they are tops) This was a very memorable reception. The bride & groom are HUGE basketball and Cleveland Cavalier's fans...so as a surprise to the Andrew, Mary had arranged for Ahmaad Crump (Arena Host) from the Cleveland Cavaliers to come in and surprise everyone with a Cavaliers style grand entrance. It was amazing and it electrified the entire reception. Ahmaad was a stellar guest MC and he really help kick off the party. The only downfall to the whole experience was that I can't work with him at the next reception. I did remember my camera this time but forgot that I could actually record video until it was to late.
